If you can get a larger print of the photo then print out you photography and if possible post fliers have a house party auction off your photos, we did this for my church to raise money and our sale hit up to over 450 dollars
    be reasonable about the prices

You’ll never make money putting photos on flikr or photo sharing sites or even deviant art. What you need to do is research “Microstock photography” or just “Stock Photography”. You wont make much money per photo in microstock but the advantage you get is that you can sell hundreds or even thousands of the same photo because you offer them royalty free. There’s a good list of american sites.

There’s lots! Just type in “list of microstock sites” and you should get the list of about 100 different sites. Most are small and not worth signing up for but there’s a select few, about 10 which you can make some good $ on assuming you take excellent looking photos that are worthy of actually being sold in a commercial market!

If you don’t have a good camera and awesome lenses you wont be able to do it though because these sites are extremely picky! You need a DSLR. I’d suggest not going below Nikon D300 or A Cannon of equal power.

Anyways I know people who make their living of microstock. The trick is to upload as many photos as possible that have COMMERCIAL value. No pictures of pretty little flowers, businesses don’t want that. Anyway go to the sites I recommended and look at the top sold photos and you will understand what I mean by commercial value!

As far as the net is concerned microstock is the only way to go id you wanna actually make money!

Have you thought about trying photo contests?
This site has around 200 open photos contests to enter

IF repeat IF you are good enough then you earn money by selling your services as a photographer or by selling individual photos.

You do that by going out and marketing and finding clients.

Making money is incredibly difficult and time consuming. Also for the first several years of work, you spend a lot more trying to find clients, then you actually make from the clients.

My advice is to stick to medicine, and enjoy a photography hobby.
