The guy is rebuilt by his colleagues and mayhem ensues. He “bleeds” a white fluid that keeps him alive. He’s just like a cyborg/robot thing. I remember seeing it 15 years ago as a teenager on either USA networks up all night or on the Fox Chicago affiliate WFLD 32 hosted by Svengoolie or Rich Koz whatever he was then.

–It will demonstrate how the undercover ABC producers performed much of the food handling mischief captured by their concealed cameras, and how the narration by network star Diane Sawyer did not match the images being shown to the public.
–It will document how ABC producers tried to lure Food Lion workers into violating company rules on the handling of food.
–And finally, it will show you how ABC News, the nation’s most powerful TV network, set facts on their head in an attempt to deceive the public as to the significance of the jury verdict.
ABC’s conduct in the Food Lion affair is a case study in media malpractice. It is a story of repulsive dishonesty. It does damage to the concept of a free press which should be dear to both the average citizen and to the professional journalist. And it tells, as a spokesman for Accuracy in Media told ABC News the day of the verdict, “why journalists now have less credibility with the American public than do professional wrestlers.” ABC’s “World News Tonight” did not air that quotation, because it cut to the truth of the ABC-Food Lion scandal.
Alan Levan won a Million libel judgment against ABC and 20/20 in which he claimed they reported he had tricked investors in bogus real estate deals, but that judgment was later thrown out by U.S. Court of Appeals in Atlanta and the Supreme Court refused to hear the case. (Trigoboff, 3/6/2000)
Washington apple growers filed a 0 Million suit against CBS for a 60 Minutes piece about ALAR (pesticide). Later asked for 0 Million. Farmers said the pesticide was not dangerous. The case was settled without a trial (summary judgment) FOR CBS on the basis that the scientific community was sharply divided about the effects of the chemical. If that were the case, how could the report be proven false? Appellate Court upheld the ruling in 1995. (See Pember p. 138) Note: This is TRADE LIBEL
1991 largest Libel judgment in U.S. History: MILLION to ‘Texas district attorney Vic Feazel, who was falsely accused by WFAA-TV in Dallas of taking bribes to fix drunken driving and drug possession cases. They ultimately settled out out court for a smaller amount. (Smith, p. 413) An ABC affiliate.
1993 New York appellate court upheld an .5 Million dollar award against Buffalo TV station WKBW for incorrectly associating a restaurant owner with organized crime. Later reduced to .5 million. (Smith p. 413) Retrial was ordered because of faulty jury instructions and that jury awarded 11.5 million dollars in damages (NBC affiliation)

There are many more law suits against other networks besides FOX.
Richard Jewell has settled with NBC and CNN for several million dollars and has filed suit against the New York Post and the Atlanta Journal-Constitution for statements that were based on false information and undisclosed facts and damaged Mr. Jewell’s reputation. The writings implied Mr. Jewell was the Olympic Park bomber.
This represents just a few over the years. The Red Lion ABC suit is allegedly to have involved ABC helping a union get rid of this large food chain.
FOX has more minorities represented in their network than all the others combined. Prove what you say.
Red Lion was not unionized.
The apple growers case was thrown out stating differences within the scientific community about the effects of the chemical.
FOX was sued by their employee for not reporting the story. Would you want to be sued by Monsanto? Come on now. Be honest.
I would rather our government deal with questionable chemicals than any news source. So you agree with the apple growers case and the Red Lion case that the journalists can say whatever they want in order to ruin businesses? Not me.
